Dr. Linda Dirlam is a chiropractor and clinical nutritionist at the Natural Healing Center of Iowa since 2001. She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1988. She spent five years in southern Pennsylvania where she worked as an associate for one year, then opened her own office. After selling that practice, she spent a brief period of time in northern California, then found an ideal opportunity to practice back in Iowa. She then took over a practice in Ackley, Iowa and worked there until opening in Cedar Falls.
Dr. Linda’s chiropractic method called Koren Specific Technique or “KST” is a light adjusting technique in comparison to traditional methods. The gentle technique allows her to see a wide variety of patients including newborn to older adults.
Early on in practice, Dr. Linda discovered the health benefits of practicing nutrition with her patients. About ten years ago, Nutrition Response Testing was added to the practice allowing her to find underlying areas of stress that can be affecting one’s overall health and to address it with a nutrition program specific to each individual, allowing the body to heal itself. In the past year and a half, she has also added a test called the Heart Sound Recorder.
Natural Healing Center of Iowa is on a mission to promote health to others in the community by informing them of methods to prevent disease and improve quality of life. Dr. Linda offers free seminars to groups in the community seeking to learn about natural ways to get healthy and stay healthy through chiropractic, nutritional protocols, healthier ways of eating and enhancing heart health.
First, think about someone who has hypothermia. If someone fell through the ice on a lake, the body, to stay alive, first looks out for the organs in the body’s core, before it looks out for parts that the body could survive without. The energy and the blood supply immediately leave the fingers, toes, arms and legs and go to the core organs. This is because the organs are more important to survival and why hypothermia always affects the fingers and toes first.
The same principles apply in Nutrition Response Testing. Someone standing in front of you is under no visible stress. Put a little pressure with your hand on their stressed-out heart while pushing on their outstretched arm and the arm will go weak. Why, because her body knows that it is more important to save her heart than her arm!
Nutrition Response Testing® is a non-invasive system of analyzing the body to determine the root cause of ill health. It uses muscle strength testing to communicate with the body’s own innate intelligence to evaluate the body’s response to a broad variety of substances that may be affecting health and function. Through our analysis, we are testing your body’s neurological reflexes. These reflexes are the body’s way of telling us what and how the nervous system is doing. We test organs, glands, joints, muscles, etc.
The body responds to these procedures reliably and consistently. This feedback is so precise that it opens the door to a safe and lasting recovery, even in cases where everything else has failed.
The body has the potential to fully repair most anything for itself, given the right nutrients and care.
If you are considering this method, it is very important that you understand what Nutrition Response Testing® is and appreciate how it works. Otherwise, you are less likely to follow through and do what you need to do to get well. If you do not follow through, you will not experience the benefits you seek.
In Nutrition Response Testing® we do not diagnose or treat disease.
